Sturdy OEM Road Wheelset

This is our go-to wheel for road riding.   There are so many great wheel options available these days that riders are really spoiled for choice which can ironically make choosing a set quite challenging.   These wheels are intended to hit the sweet-spot of a set that offer great performance all round at a great price.  While our gravel build is about rugged dependability, this set is focused on the specific demands of the road—offering the lateral stiffness and weight savings we want for a fast, responsive ride.

We have settled on a 25mm internal rim width, which we feel is the sweet spot for 28mm to 32mm tires. This wider bed creates a better profile, allowing the tire to sit more naturally with the rim for improved cornering confidence. At 50mm deep, the rims offer a good aerodynamic advantage on the flats while remaining stable enough that you aren't fighting them in a crosswind.

To bring the weight down to 1196g without compromising on feel, we’ve used straight-pull carbon spokes that have a mechanical interface with their nipple and not purely bonded, they are also captive in the hubs.  This results in a wheel that feels "snappy" under power—exactly what you want when accelerating or climbing out of the saddle.

We’ve kept the aesthetic understated. The black hubs and carbon spokes provide a clean, modern look, complemented by the same subtle, laser-etched black-on-black rim graphics found across our range.
